The Adult Learners Course is designed to meet Adult Learning course requirement for Trainer Approval/Trainer Credential. To meet this requirement, all 6 modules must be completed.

You may take these modules in any order you desire. You will receive a certificate and clock hour credit for each module as you complete them.  To locate your certificate, go to your transcript that is found on your PDIS dashboard. This course replaces previously published modules, if you have taken one of those you do not have to retake the course, your completion will be transferred to this course and be reflected in your Dashboard under my courses and the transcript.

Module 1: Professionalism 1.5 Clock hours
In this module you will review four learning theories and brain research, align the theories and research to training techniques and strategies, and create your own learning philosophy.  You will practice using all of these to meet individual participants' needs.
Module 2: Training Facilitation Skills 1 Clock hour
In this module you will work with strategies for active listening, be introduced to powerful questions, explore components of effective learning environments, and identify when to use techniques for managing group dynamics.
Module 3: Culture 1.0 Clock hour
In this module you will define culture, identify the elements of culture and explore how culture influences the work of trainers. 
Module 4: Diverse Learners 1.5 Clock hours
In this module you will review four learning theories and brain research, align the theories and research to training techniques and strategies, and create your own learning philosophy.  You will practice using all of these to meet individual participants' needs.
Module 5: Learning Transfer 1.5 Clock hours
In this module, you will identify three types of learning transfer. Analyze common learning transfer challenges and what you can do to reduce them, and identify strategies you can use to strengthen learning transfer in training you deliver.
Module 6: Connected Early Childhood Educators 1.0 Clock hours  
In this module you will describe what a connected early childhood educator is, learn how to use the professional development features of the PDIS, and create your own early childhood connected educator plan.
